4-0: DAY01_0_PRE AND AFTER INTRO (REVISED)
The Introduction Was Approximately 42 Hours Long, Which Is Quite Normal
After a 42-hour introduction, David Blair (or “I, a DVD”) begins telling stories of dreams no one ever had from inside Hyper Nagasaki—a bubble containing the world's quarters—where he works as a Movietalker at Manchuria's Telepathic Cinema, assisted by the strange brain (swarming electrical entities from caves) to prove how to save the world with the lights on, as Judai and Juna arrive with their temporal map on September 11th, 2023, and the census asks: “Where were you? October 1st at midnight?”
4-1: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE
In the Snowglobes We Sing the Wrong Song, But That Is the Song in Manchuria
Inside the DVD machine within a story are snowglobes, and in the snowglobes Shadow-Eugene plays a Flemish Notary Public lost in Manchuria—actually a lost Hungarian from the Paris Quarter who speaks no language but his own yet works as a Movietalker at Manchu Edison in Shinkyo, thinking an export film about the creation of Manchuria set in the Antwerp Quarter using telepathic techniques—a snowglobe dream that never occurred where we sing the wrong song but that is the song in Manchuria, a puzzle-puzzle the UFOs like so they pause as Eugene speaks from the Shadow, while the DVD thinks movies to Judai and Juna who present them to the UFOs, cycling through 26 Days where each Day contains 26 Days within it, repeating again and again.
4-2: Day01_1-26_DVDMachine_2
We Think and Dance to Make Movies for the UFOs
Inside the DVD machine where dreams that are not exist, we pause at Day 01 parts 16 and 17, telling stories to the UFOs hovering above while at the Manchu Edison Film Corporation we think and dance to create films, re-enacting impossible dreams that did not occur everagain in an endless thought-loop of presence.
4-3: Day01_1-26_DVDMachine_3
Estonian Shale Contains Patterned Memories—It Remembers Being Fire
In a snow globe magnified by investigators in dark clothing and blue light, UFOs hover near mushroom clouds observing humanity's destructive technologies while beneath Toyota's calendrical corridor a spherical chamber waits to simulate the Manchurian explosion that never detonates—always about two minutes away from happening, its sonic shock emitter silent, its burnt notes unclaimed, the drum repeating “I knew, I knew” as the shale remembers being fire and the disc-like shapes maintain their watchful presence.
4-4: Day01_1-26_DVDMachine_4
These Are the Numbers of the Days—The 26 Days
Relying on the repetitive cycle structure, 4-4 enumerates and re-enumerates all 26 days while UFOs hover over mushroom clouds observing celestial catastrophes, Japanese workers construct iron structures with thoughts magnetically drawn away and replaced by alien thoughts, Judai and Juna work surrounded by filming equipment in their green-screen studio for the Manchu Edison Film Corporation, and ethereal figures shrouded in nutritious steam rise from the Manchurian border while the narrator chants “we are the people of the think” through recursive counting that transforms numbers into ritual, days into names, and arithmetic into a form of cosmic witness.
4-5: Day01_1-26_DVDMachine_5
We Sing the Wrong Song But That Is the Song of Manchuria
In a DVD machine inside a story inside snowglobes whose walls are the sky, Shadow-Eugene plays a Flemish Notary Public lost in Manchuria—though in truth he's a lost Hungarian from the Paris Quarter who only speaks Hungarian but has become a movietalker at Manchu Edison in Shinkyo using telepathic techniques to think an export film set in the Antwerp Quarter about the creation of Manchuria itself, a puzzle-puzzle the UFOs like so they pause as Eugene speaks from the Shadow in dreams that never occurred where we sing wrong songs round and round again, though you can't see the snowglobes from within.
4-6: Day01_1-26_DVDMachine_6
The World Has Been Stolen and I Am Flying in the Air with the UFOs
AND SO BEGINS—the narrator tells a dream that did not ever never occur, for the world has been stolen (the word has been stolen), and while flying in the air with the UFOs thinking THE THINK to think, declares “we are the people of THE THINK” and “I think I can I think I can” before telling stories of dreams no one ever had, reaching THE END or not, or knot—a movie by David Blair, page 04, file 4-6, copyright Midnight October 1, 2025, but why am I flying in the air with the UFOs, where am I, who are you, please answer truthfully.
4-7: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE_7
We Are Counting Again in the Snowglobe That Never Was
Inside the DVD machine are snowglobes, and inside the snowglobes is HyperNagasaki where at Manchu Edison on October 1st, 1945 at midnight we hear the Strange Brain counting again while dreaming snowglobe dreams that never occurred. As we count in endless repetition, the un-dream reveals itself—a DVD Machine within a DVD within a story, nested realities singing Manchuria through the walls, pausing only to begin the cycle once more.
4-8: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE_8_CENSUS PALACE
We Think in Order to Save the World and We Don't Know Why
While walking to Tokyo's Imperial Palace on October 7, 2023, Shadow-Eugene and the narrator float through HyperNagasaki inside the Leibnizian Monadological Camera, synchronizing time to create the Days of Our Lives through endless repetitive thought. They hear the Strange Brain singing Korea, Koguryo, Manchuria, and Tokyo through the studio walls as the Manchurian Explosion begins in nested snowglobes—knowing HOW and WHO but not WHY they must think these patterns to pause the UFOs and save the world, counting until the cycle completes.
4-9: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE_9_CENSUS PALACE
He Knows Nothing or Negative Nothing, Whichever Is Less
Shadow-Eugene, a Hungarian who once lived on other planets dreaming of advanced knowledges, arrives from the Boston Quarter to tell the story of a future explosion he knows nothing about—speaking from the Silent Sound Stages at Manchu Edison while the narrator thinks this un-dream from inside the DVD machine (built in the Paris Quarter near old Sasebo) to Judai and Juna, who transmit it to the paused UFOs above. As the Manchurian Explosion begins, the Strange Brain—living in a Nagasaki doorbell, in caves under Suwa Temple, and in un-burned coal beneath Gunkanjima Island—sings and counts slowly in two directions at once, creating Manchuria as an un-dream that did not never exist.
4-10: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE_10-COUNTING
The Days Cycle Through Days, Counting in Two Directions at Once
As the Strange Brain counts slowly through nested temporal layers, title cards pulse rhythmically between Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Manchuria—progressing through Days 15 through 25 in a hypnotic sequence where the Manchurian Explosion repeats inside DVD machines inside stories inside snowglobes. Meanwhile Elsewhere, the narrator tells dreams UFOs ever have while Shadow-Eugene movietalks the un-dream that did not never exist, and the counting continues until the cycle completes and begins again.
4-11: DAY01_1-26_DVD MACHINE_11_END
The the the the the the the the END
At the edge of the Imperial Palace moat in Tokyo, circling before dawn in pajamas, David Blair (or “I, a DVD”) reads from his phone the method that has paused the invasion—playing DVDs in a DVD machine, thinking them to Judai and Juna who transmit them to the UFOs who pause in the air and say it all out loud. As title cards oscillate between Day 1 and Day 26 in hypnotic pulses, the 32-year journey to Manchuria reaches its conclusion: the movie with many names ends and begins again, for what happens next if we continue in this way is very well unknown, and his methods are crude but then so is oil.
