==== 16.23. Signalbox Delta: 4 Stations Ahead of Itself ====
\\
**Location:** Beneath Nara-Chihara Spur Line Junction \\

**Description:** \\
Deep under the Nara-Chihara junction, there’s a signalbox no longer listed in rail control databases. Its clocks run four stops ahead of schedule, always. The signals it manages blink into tracks that no longer connect. Juna watches lights flicker in red, then green---then simultaneously in a color she can’t name. “The station is performing decisions in advance,” Judai notes. One wall holds a chalkboard titled “Departures Already Taken.” Listed are names, not destinations. Below: *All clearances assumed.* It is said the signalbox trains ghost lines---tracks laid psychically across imagined platforms. When the lights flash blue, a new delay is foreseen. But no one is waiting. Only decisions making themselves. \\

**Keywords:** \\
Nara-Chihara signal anomaly, advanced departure board, ghost train clearance, unscheduled future junction, phantom rail logic \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
Juna read a name on the board---hers, but in kanji she never used. “I think I left before I arrived,” she murmured. Judai logged the blinking pattern. Every seventh flash was silent. The circuitry beneath the console pulsed as if breathing. He tried toggling a switch; nothing changed, yet the chalkboard updated: *Clearance Reassigned.* The box felt less like a control room, more like an oracle. They exited into morning---though they’d entered at dusk. On the platform, a train idled. But its sign read: *TO MEMORY (EXP.)* They didn’t board. They’d already departed. \\
