==== 2.22. They Called It Day 3 ====
\\
(Location: Control Room, Misdated Observation Center) \\

**Description:** \\
A bunker buried under the Film Registration Bureau shows reels marked “Day 3” --- though all timestamps correspond to Day 2. The footage is mundane: Judai and Juna entering rooms they’ve never seen. A technician explains: “The system advances without confirmation. It thinks you’ve moved on.” Screens show possible versions of Day 3: sunlit archives, flooded stairwells, a conversation with a version of Juna in a wedding dress. None of these have occurred. “It’s rendering futures based on edit patterns,” Juna says. Judai scrolls to a reel labeled “Rollback Attempt: Denied.” They realize the building is editing itself forward --- skipping days to fit a runtime no one chose. “We’re being compressed,” Judai mutters. The exit door already says “Day 4.” \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
Juna tapped the screen. “That’s us, but out of order.” Judai pointed to a monitor labeled “Post-Story Debrief.” It played static. “We haven’t earned that scene yet,” she said. The center’s computers kept marking the next day before they could finish the current one. Outside, it was still night. Still Day 2. But the logs showed Day 5 as ongoing. They wrote their names in the margin of the printout and stayed until their reflections caught up. \\
