==== 9.10. The Chironomancer’s Tower ====
\\
(Location: Mountaintop Relay Peak, Enclosed Antenna Dome) \\

**Description:** \\
High above Nobeyama sat a black dome, humming gently in a frequency too low for humans. Inside, a single frog sat atop a dial marked in decades. Judai bowed. Juna approached the dial and turned it to 1949. Static. 1955. White noise. 1962. A signal: a frog-shaped cloud formation, rotating. “The chironomancer tunes the air,” she said. The frog croaked once and the dome flashed images from forgotten children’s broadcasts---educational films that never aired. On the wall: a diagram of lungs shaped like lily pads, and beneath them: the words, *Loyalty Through Sound.* They left when the dial started turning on its own. \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
The frog didn’t follow them. But as they descended, Judai’s tape recorder began playing clips they hadn’t recorded: instructions for rituals involving radios, frogs, and ponds. “He gave us a curriculum,” Juna said. That night, they replayed the tape for no one in particular. At 3 a.m., their window fogged up with shapes---signal diagrams shaped like crouched amphibians. They wiped the glass, and saw nothing but sky. \\
