10.26. The Final Frame Projects Only When Forgotten
(Location: Lightwell Chamber, Beneath the Emperor’s Plinth)
Description:
The last exhibit has no bulb. No reel. No lens. Only a lightwell—narrow and angled toward a surface of brushed silver. Juna read the plaque: “Frame Only Visible When Unobserved.” Judai turned his back. A glow formed behind him. He took a step forward. It grew brighter. Juna faced the wall and closed her eyes. The image came: a crown of frogs, a tunnel blooming in reverse, a woman alone in a theater writing something she couldn’t read. The glow faded when they turned to look. “It needs our absence,” Juna said. “That’s how it survives.” In a hidden drawer, the projector mechanism lay unbuilt.

Very Short Story:
They sat facing away. The glow returned. Judai closed his notebook, not wanting to trap it. Juna recited something from memory, and the air around them warmed. The projection stayed only as long as they did not name it. They left the room, and the chamber locked behind them. Not with a click. With silence.
