12.21. The Slope That Became a Meter

(Location: Futaba Gradient, Between Evacuation Markers)

Description:
The hillside sloped gently between Futaba and Namie—once farmland, later marked with radiation flags. But somewhere along that stretch, the incline became more than terrain. It became a unit of measurement. For what? No one agreed. Juna saw a child’s chalk sketch beside the trail: a winding line labeled “height = memory.” Judai felt himself lean differently as he walked, as though the earth expected a confession. The slope increased or decreased based on recollection. If you remembered too much, it steepened. If you lied, it flattened. This was no longer just a grade—it was Fukushima’s psychological barometer. A landscape turned moral meter, where direction was secondary to honesty.

Keywords:
##Gradient of Memory
##Topographic Confession Field
##Truth-Responsive Terrain
##Moralized Landscape Meter
##Futaba-Namie Slope Device

Very Short Story:
As Judai descended, the angle sharpened. He stumbled. “I remembered something I shouldn’t,” he muttered. Juna paused. Her footing was steady. “I don’t think the slope’s about weight,” she said. “It’s about guilt.” A few meters ahead, they found an abandoned stick with etched notches—perhaps used to track emotional gravity. At the bottom of the hill, they were both winded. But for different reasons.
