13.10. -** ***The Radiant Tunnel Beneath the Shrine
Location: Sublevel VI, Inari Cryptworks Extension
Description:
Discovered only on solstice nights, the radiant tunnel stretches from the Inari Shrine’s forgotten basement into a space that neither maps nor materials can explain. The walls shimmer—not metal, not stone, but phosphorized language. Judai runs his fingers along an etched corridor of verb conjugations—many are forms of “to vanish.” Juna realizes the tunnel is not a passage, but a lesson. Each turn translates experience into past tense. As they descend, they feel themselves growing distant from memory. A faint broadcast follows: a song half-sung in a dialect that never reached Earth. The radiant tunnel is a school for unlearning. Its curriculum ends in forgetting. And at its heart: a door made entirely of breath.

Very Short Story:
Judai slowed as the tunnel narrowed. “I forgot my name,” he whispered. “No,” said Juna, “you exchanged it.” They pressed onward. A curve in the path revealed a mural: two children drawing maps with their own shadows. “I’ve seen this before,” said Judai. “But never remembered it.” Juna traced her hand along a phrase glowing in blue: “We were not always watchers.” Ahead, the breath-door pulsed. They stepped through. On the other side, a mountain waited—but they didn’t know which one. Not anymore. They wrote their names in dust and turned around. The tunnel was gone.
