2.2. The Central Station
(Location: Tokyo Train Nexus, Platform X)
Description:
Judai and Juna stand beneath signage that flickers between languages — Kanji, Cyrillic, Roman, Glagolitic. The Central Station exists between recognized platforms, a locus of delay and misdirection. Every ten minutes, a train arrives with no passengers. Every fifteen, a conductor whispers a date into the intercom — always yesterday. Juna places her book on a bench that’s also a clockface. Judai stands beneath a destination board listing only emotions: *Confusion*, *Resolve*, *Residual Heat*. They are not trying to depart. They are trying to register the motion of arrival. Around them, travelers become silhouettes. Time doesn’t pass here — it layers. This is the first fixed point of Day Two, mapped onto memory and echoed in reels that play only in mirrors.

Very Short Story:
A train pulled in with no doors. Inside: shadows shifting across seats. Judai leaned toward the platform edge, listening for a familiar voice. The intercom said, “Twelve-eleven, again.” Juna nodded and placed her foot just beyond the yellow line. She didn’t step forward. She didn’t step back. The platform tilted slightly, and a breeze of forgotten names pushed through the tunnel. “We’ve already missed it,” Judai said. “But it hasn’t left.”
