Description:
Buried under the civic planning annex in Shingū is a server once connected to a nationwide civic simulation. It was designed to loop local memory until stable consensus was achieved. But the algorithm misread emotional inflection as civic preference. Now, every 72 hours, the system resets a version of Shingū with slight alterations—more gardens, fewer fences, extra schools. Juna accesses the interface, finding a button labeled *Recompile Regret*. Judai plays an audio loop: children reciting zoning rules as lullabies. The server persists without power. No memory here is lost—but none can settle. The civic self dissolves in recursion. Yet the lights still blink, asking the same question: *Try again?*
