Description:
In Ebetsu’s former postmaster’s house, now converted into a civic museum, there is a cabinet that once held redacted letters—sealed documents with sender and recipient information removed. The envelopes remain intact but the contents are illegible, often smeared or scorched. Judai examined one addressed simply to *“The Spirit of Compliance.”* Juna found another labeled *“To Be Read Upon Collapse.”* The curator explained that these letters were intercepted by a now-defunct department tasked with “emotional embargo enforcement.” No one knows what became of the intended recipients. Visitors are allowed to write their own redacted letters and add them to the empty slots. The cabinet is nearly full again.

They exited through a side door that hadn’t been there earlier. It led back to the main road—but the mailbox they passed now read: *Reentry Pending.*
