6.7. Night Where the Constellations Refuse

(Location: Exterior Viewing Deck, JAOC Rotating Dome 3)

Description:
Nightfall over Mitaka reveals a sky misaligned. The stars do not appear where the machines expect them. Astronomical software labeled *Harmony Tables* marks their absence with the word: *noncompliant.* On the dome’s upper platform, Judai recalibrates the dials. Nothing responds. Juna points upward—not at stars, but at patterns missing from their designated zones. Constellations have migrated. The Great Bear curls toward Meiji Shrine. Orion has entered the jurisdiction of abandoned Tokyo canals. “They’re avoiding us,” Juna murmurs. The official sidereal clock begins ticking backward. A whisper in the control booth notes: *Pattern Rebellion Phase 4 confirmed.* The JAOC team left this platform unmanned years ago. But it still records. The machines continue trying to predict what will not obey.

Keywords:
##stellar disobedience
##misaligned heavens
##noncompliant constellations
##pattern rebellion
##observatory exile

Very Short Story:
Juna traced a familiar formation in the sky. It dissolved. Judai watched his watch count into negative time. “They’ve left the grid,” he said. The telescope swiveled once, like a shrug. A printout emerged: a blank sky with annotations in a forgotten script. “Someone’s still charting this,” she said. “Or something.” The stars returned briefly—only to spell a word neither of them spoke aloud. It sounded like *goodbye,* but not in any language they knew.
